The Royal Ballet and Opera is thrilled to announce that a range of Royal Opera and Royal Ballet artists and productions have been nominated for the 2025 Olivier Awards.

Three Royal Opera productions have been nominated in the Best New Opera Production category. From the main stage, Richard Jones’ world premiere production of Festen by Mark-Anthony Turnage and Lee Hall is selected, alongside Damiano Michieletto’s production of Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann. From the Linbury Theatre, The Royal Opera’s co-production with Irish National Opera, Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade, directed by Daisy Evans, is also nominated.

Two exceptional artists have been nominated in the Outstanding Achievement in Opera category for their performances in Royal Opera productions: Former Royal Opera Jette Parker Young Artist, Aigul Akhmetshina, for her performance as Carmen in Damiano Michieletto’s production, and Allan Clayton for his performance as Christian in Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Festen.

Northern Ballet Lead Soloist Sarah Chun is nominated for the Outstanding Achievement in Dance award, for her performance in Fools (part of Three Short Ballets), which toured to the Linbury Theatre.

We are delighted to have the achievements of our artists, creative teams and staff recognised in this way, and wish the nominees every success.

The Olivier Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 6 April at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
