We are confident in our ability to overcome any challenges that lie ahead and excited by the opportunities to develop the art forms and take them to ever wider audiences, live and digital. Our next Chair will need to demonstrate a personal passion for opera and/or ballet, along with the requisite leadership skills, commitment and creativity to be a compelling advocate and ambassador for the Royal Opera House.

The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people’s lives through opera and ballet. Home to two of the world’s great artistic companies – The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, performing with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House – our mission is to engage many more people in exceptional ballet and opera. Everything we do is rooted in our belief in the power of opera and dance to transform lives.

This role requires equal measures of skill, passion and energy, and in return offers the opportunity to play an important part in shaping the future of this iconic institution, ensuring relevance, nurturing diversity and  delivering excellence. If you believe you have the passion and the skill to lead our Board, we would love to hear from you.

The closing date for application is Friday 18th March 2022.
