Katie Mitchell’s new production of Handel's high-octane thriller is now open on the Main Stage.
Wow breathtaking #ROHTheodora a vivid and effective animation: visually and musically superb. Wonderful music making by all. @JoyceDiDonato @ed_lyon @_JuliaBullock all sensationally acted as well as top notch singing. And bravo to orchestra. @judithbusbridge @magnus_johnston

@TheRoyalOpera #ROHTheodora was several kinds of wonderful. The singing from the entire cast was impassioned, beautiful & brutal in equal measure. The orchestral playing wonderful & nuanced. And the production. One of the best visions of Handel I’ve seen in a while.

An emotionally shattering, and thrilling evening @RoyalOperaHouse #rohTheodora - sublimely sung, and theatrically devastating. Katie Mitchell has done nothing finer.

Can’t stop thinking about last nights @RoyalOperaHouse #ROHTheodora - what a cast!

If you are going to see Theodora at @RoyalOperaHouse I'd avoid all reviews - I loved the surprise of it all last night - and, well, just loved all of it, from the music to the staging to the story. Even if you don't normally like opera, go if you possibly can.

#ROHTheodora #KatieMitchell @RoyalOperaHouse I’m currently thinking it’s the most incredible opera production I’ve ever seen anywhere
