Biography

Belgo-Rwandese dancer Alix Van Tiggelen joined the Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme for the 2021/2022 season. Born in Belgium, she began training at the age of nine and from age ten attended the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp for four years. After one year of training in Paris, she joined The Royal Ballet School. 

She was awarded second place at the Lynn Seymour Award for Expressive Dance at The Royal Ballet School in 2019 and that same year received the Ballet Association Award. She won the Grand Prix at the Chausson d’Or competition in Paris in 2017. 

While in Paris, she performed in the Ratmansky production of Swan Lake with La Scala di Milano and while a student she performed in The Nutcracker with The Royal Ballet.
