Biography

Uruguayan tenor Andrés Presno studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arte Lirico del SODRE and Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He is a Samling artist and was a member of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme (2019–2022). His Royal Opera roles included First Man in Armour (Die Zauberflöte), First Elder (Susanna), cover Rodolfo (La bohème), cover Duca (Rigoletto), Abdallo and cover Ismaele (Nabucco), Gastone de Letorières and cover Alfredo Germont (La traviata) and Roderigo and cover Cassio (Otello). Recent engagements include Il Messaggero (Aida) and Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor) for The Royal Opera, Malcolm and cover Macduff (Macbeth) and Cavaradossi (Tosca) for The Grange Festival, Cavaradossi, Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Young Gypsy (Aleko) and Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) for Opera North and Des Grieux (Manon) and Don José (Carmen) for the Teatro Municipal, Santiago. His 2024/25 engagements include Luigi (Il Tabarro) for Welsh National Opera and Gabriel Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) for Opera North.
