Biography

Anna Goryachova was born in St. Petersburg and trained at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and Accademia Art Music in Florence. In 2008 she won Second Prize in the Galina Vishnevskaya International Opera Singers Competition and was a soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre from 2008–11. She is also a former ensemble member at Zurich Opera, where roles included Adalgisa (Norma), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Magdalena (Die Meistersinger). Recent highlights include Olga in Eugene Onegin (Vienna State Opera debut), Angelina in La Cenerentola, the title role of Carmen and Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Opéra Bastille), Sesto (La clemenza di Tito) in Tokyo, and Sara (Roberto Devereux) at Zurich Opera. She has also performed at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Mariinsky Theatre. She made her debut with The Royal Opera in the 2017/18 Season as Carmen and has since returned as Paulina (The Queen of Spades). Engagements for 2025/26 include the title role of Tancredi at the Bregenz Festival and Clara d’Almanza (Betrothal in a Monastery) at Theater an der Wien.
