Biography

Annemarie Woods is the co-winner of the Ring Award Graz and European Opera Prize. Set and costume designs include The Handmaid’s Tale (English National Opera); Billy Budd (Finnish National Opera, Den Norske Opera and Ballet); Il trovatore (Zurich Opera); Eugene Onegin (Scottish Opera); Don Giovanni (Bergen National Opera, Northern Ireland Opera); The Lighthouse (Irish National Opera); Radamisto (NIO); L’heure espagnole and Gianni Schicchi, The Importance of Being Earnest (Opera National de Lorraine); Turn of the Screw (NIO, Nevill Holt); Agrippina (Irish Youth Opera); Hair (Staatstheater Darmstadt); La favorite (Graz); Salome (Cologne, NIO) and La Cenerentola (Lucerne Festival). Costume designs include Aida (ROH); Coppélia (Scottish Ballet); Girl with a Pearl Earring, Sweeney Todd (Zurich); Don Quixote (Royal Danish Ballet); Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci (Dutch National Opera); Madama Butterfly (Zurich, Montpellier); Osud (Brno Opera); Don Giovanni (Gothenburg Opera, Greek National Opera); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Deutsche Oper Berlin, Montpellier); La traviata (Komische Oper Berlin) and Pity (Royal Court).
