Biography

Born in Madrid, he studied ballet at the Professional Conservatory of Dance. He moved to London in 1998 to study at The Royal Ballet Upper School and graduated a year later from the English National Ballet School, being the first student to be awarded the National Certificate in Professional Dance by the DaDA and Trinity College London.

As a ballet dancer, he worked for companies like Mediterranean Ballet, European Ballet, K-Ballet and English National Ballet where he was a dancer for 17 years. He has danced soloist and principal roles in ballets by Ashton, MacMillan, Petipa, Fokine, Balanchine, Bournonville, Mary Skeaping, Roland Petit, Michael Corder, Christopher Hampson, Wayne Eagling, Derek Deane, Pina Bausch, Akram Khan, amongst many others.

After retiring from the stage in 2020, he graduated with distinction from the Professional Award in Benesh Movement Notation (PABMN) and a year later from the Post Graduate Diploma in Benesh Movement Notation (PGDBMN). In 2021 he became part of the Frederick Ashton Foundation Shadowing Scheme. He has notated and re-staged works for English National Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and the Royal Academy of Dance.
