Biography

Swedish soprano Elisabet Strid’s notable roles include Elisabeth and Venus (Tannhäuser), Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Brünnhilde (Siegfried), Senta, Rusalka, Giorgetta (Il tabarro), Chrysothemis (Elektra), Isolde and Salome. Recent engagements have taken her to international opera houses and festivals worldwide, including Deutsche Oper Berlin, Semperoper Dresden, the Royal Operas of Stockholm and Copenhagen, Michigan Opera (US debut) and Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as Madrid, Oslo, Helsinki, Geneva, Tokyo, Mexico and the Bayreuth Festival, Baltic Sea Festival, Ravello Festival, Hong Kong Festival and Wagner Days Budapest.

Concert appearances include performances with Orchestra National di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Philharmonie Luxembourg and Swedish Radio Orchestra, among others. Her first CD Leuchtende Liebe (Wagner and Beethoven) was released by Oehms Classics in 2017. This is her Royal Opera debut.
