Artist of The Royal Ballet

Biography

British dancer Ella Newton Severgnini is an Artist of The Royal Ballet. She joined The Royal Ballet as an Aud Jebsen Young Dancer at the start of the 2022/23 season and was promoted to Artist of The Royal Ballet in 2023.

Newton Severgnini was born in Winchester and began her ballet studies at the age of three at her local dance school, SJ Academy of Dance. She became a Junior Associate of The Royal Ballet School and shortly after, in 2014, she joined The Royal Ballet School’s full-time training at White Lodge. In 2019 she progressed into Upper School. During her time at the School, she was awarded the Valerie Adams Award for Exceptional Musicality and the Ashton Award. After 8 years at the School, she graduated in 2022. 

Performances whilst at the School include dancing with The Royal Ballet in Swan Lake, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Frankenstein and in the world premiere of Wayne Mcgregor’s Woolf Works. In the School’s annual end-of-year performances she performed lead roles in Valentino Zucchetti’s Playfully So and Petal Miller Ashmole’s Bottega

With the Company, her roles include Neapolitan Dance (Swan Lake), roles in Anemoi and Les Rendezvous. She created roles in Joshua Junker's Never Known.
