Biography

The British-Italian tenor is a recipient of the First Prize, the Placido Domingo Tenor Prize and the Verdi Prize at the 2018 Vinas International Singing Competition. He is an exclusive recording artist on Decca and has released two albums. 2023/24 Season highlights include a triple appearance at Gran Teatre del Liceu as Riccardo (Un ballo in Maschera), Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur), and in recital with Lise Davidsen; a double appearance with Orchestra di Teatro alla Scala and Riccardo Chailly for Verdi’s Requiem and Inno delle Nazioni, and his role debuts as Pollione (Norma) in Naples and Adorno (Simon Boccanegra)at the Wiener Staatsoper. Upcoming engagements include Freddie’s debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Cavaradossi and a return to Staatsoper Hamburg as Rodolfo (La bohème). Previously for The Royal Opera, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Rodolfo (La bohème).
