Goderdzi Janelidze

Biography

From Georgia, Goderdzi Janelidze is an alumnus of the Paliashvili State Musical College in Batumi, the Batumi Opera Studio and the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. Janelidze is a former member of the Young Artists Programme at the Bolshoi Theatre and a former member of the Bolshoi ensemble. Awards include the First Prize at the 2017 Elena Obraztsova International Competition and the First Prize and Audience Prize at the 2018 International Rimsky-Korsakov Competition. In the 2021-22 Season he made his house debut at Paris Opéra, singing Sparafucile (Rigoletto). Recent highlights include Colline (La bohème) for Gran Teatro del Liceu, Barcelona, the title role of Don Quichotte for Wexford Festival Opera, Tom (Un ballo in Maschera) for Teatro Real, Madrid and Sparafucile for Bregenz Festival, Canadian Opera Company and Teatro Colón. Janelidze made his Royal Opera debut in the 2021/22 Season in Samson et Dalila.
