South African soprano Golda Schultz trained at The Juilliard School and the Opernstudio at Bayerische Staatsoper. She has since appeared with orchestras and at opera houses worldwide. Early engagements included Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) for the Salzburg Festival, Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro) for Glyndebourne Festival and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) for the Metropolitan Opera and Vienna State Opera. Recent engagements include Micaëla (Carmen) for Paris Opera, Agathe (Der Freischütz) for Bayerische Staatsoper and Madame Liodoine in Barrie Kosky’s staging of Dialogues des Carmélites for Glyndebourne Festival. Upcoming engagements include Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at the Edinburgh International Festival, Fauré’s Requiem at the BBC Proms, Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress) for Paris Opera, Countess Almaviva for Bayerische Staatsoper, Agathe for Semperoper Dresden and Pamina for the Metropolitan Opera. This is her Royal Opera debut.
