Biography

Born in Australia, Grant Doyle studied in Adelaide and at the Royal College of Music. A former Royal Opera Young Artist, his roles have included Ping (Turandot), Le Dancaïre (Carmen), Billy (Anna Nicole), Schaunard (La bohème), Tarquinius (The Rape of Lucretia), Demetrius (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and Harlequin (Ariadne auf Naxos). Appearances elsewhere have included Forester (The Cunning Little Vixen), Don Giovanni (Garsington Opera), Prince Yeletsky (Queen of Spades) and Robert (Iolanta) for Opera Holland Park, Abraham (Clemency) for Scottish Opera, Sir Thomas (Mansfield Park) for Grange Festival, Oreste in Sydney, Starbuck (Moby-Dick) in Adelaide, Ned Keene (Peter Grimes) in Gran Canaria, Mike in Adams’s I Was Looking at the Ceiling in Rome, the title role of Macbeth and Barone di Trombonok (Il viaggio a Reims) for English Touring Opera and Demetrius in Madrid and Berlin. His 2024/25 season engagements include La Rocca in Un Giorno di Regno (Garsington).
