German-Armenian soprano Hrachuhí Bassénz is a member of the Semperoper Dresden ensemble, where she has been singing leading roles since 2018. She has worked with conductors including Antonio Pappano, Johannes Wildner, Alexander Shelley, Marc Tardue, Daniel Oren, Antonino Fogliani, John Fiore, Henrik Nánási, Marc Minkowski, Ivan Repušić, Daniele Rustioni, Omer Meir Wellber, Joana Mallwitz and Giampaolo Bisantim, and directors including Laura Scozzi, Calixto Bieito, Mariame Clément, Dieter Kaegi, David McVicar, Elijah Moshinsky and Bruno Ravella. She has performed at the Royal Opera House, Vienna State Opera, Den Norske Opera & Ballet, L’Opéra national du Rhin, Strasbourg and Israeli Opera, Tel Aviv, and is a former member of Oper Nürnberg. Her 2023/24 Season highlights included returns to Semperoper Dresden for Mimì (La bohème), Antonia (Les contes d’Hoffmann) and Desdemona (Otello) and her Seoul Arts Center debut as Desdemona. Her 2024/25 Season engagements include debuts as Tosca (Opéra de Limoges), Ariadne auf Naxos (Israeli Opera) and Leonora in Fidelio (Busan).
