Isabel Lubach

First Artist of The Royal Ballet

Biography

British dancer Isabel Lubach is an Artist of The Royal Ballet. She trained at The Royal Ballet School and in 2015 graduated into The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme, going on to join the Company as an Artist in 2016, and promoted to First Artist, 2022. 

Lubach was born in London and started dancing at the age of four. She trained at the Susan Robinson School of Ballet before joining The Royal Ballet School as a Junior Associate, going on to graduate through White Lodge and The Royal Ballet Upper School. She was a finalist at Young British Dancer of the Year in 2013. 

Lubach’s roles while at The Royal Ballet School include in Christopher Wheeldon’s Rush at the annual matinee and with the Company in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Peter and the Wolf. Her repertory with the Company includes Big Swan and Spanish Princess (Swan Lake), Harlot (Romeo and Juliet), Spanish dance (The Nutcracker), lead role in Requiem and roles in Corybantic Games, Everyone Keeps Me, The Dante Project, Solo Echo, Rhapsody, Flight Pattern and Medusa. She has created roles for the Company in Joshua Junker's Never Known, Mthuthuzeli November's For What It's Worth and Light of Passage.
