Biography

British bass Jamie Woollard is a former Jette Parker Artist (2023–25). He is a graduate of the Royal College of Music Opera Studio where roles included Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Jupiter (Orpheus in the Underworld) and Il Re (La bella dormente nel bosco), and was a Jerwood Young Artist for Glyndebourne Opera Festival in 2023, making his debut there as Thierry (Dialogues des Carmélites). He has performed as a soloist alongside the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, The Mozartists at Cadogan Hall, and in recital at Wigmore Hall. For The Royal Opera he has performed Zuniga (Carmen), Zaretsky (Eugene Onegin), Il Conte di Ceprano (Rigoletto), Dumas (Andrea Chénier), and the premieres of three micro-operas (Lost and Found). Engagements for 2025/26 include Snug (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for Glyndebourne, Il Commendatore (Don Giovanni) for Waterperry Opera Festival and Antonio in Louisa Muller’s new production of Le nozze di Figaro for Opera North.
