Born in Nijmegen, Jetske Mijnssen lives near Amsterdam. She studied stage directing at the Hogeschool voor de Kunste in Amsterdam. Her production of Luigi Rossi’s Orfeo won the French Grand Prix du Syndicat de la Critique. For Dutch National Opera, she has staged Donizetti's Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux, which were also shown in Valencia and Naples. In recent years, in addition to Les dialogues des Carmélites, which will be revived at Semperoper Dresden, she has worked on baroque and pre-classical works including Hippolyte et Aricie, Orlando Paladino, Platée and Agrippina at Zurich Opera House. Recent and future projects include Pelléas et Mélisande at the 2024 Munich Festival, Parsifal for Glyndebourne and Il Calixto for the Aix-en-Provence Festival.
