Born November 7, 1943 in Alberta, Canada, Joni Mitchell is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, considered one of the most influential musical artists of the 21st century. Her music is renowned for its deeply personal lyricism and experimental incorporation of pop, rock and jazz. She has earned 11 Grammy awards, a Kennedy Center Honor and a Gershwin Prize and among other accolades. In 1997, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2004 was made a Companion of the Order of Canada. Some of her famous songs include ‘Both Sides, Now’ and ‘Big Yellow Taxi’.
