Biography

Katie Lowe studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Royal College of Music and the Wales International Academy of Voice, later returning to the RNCM to complete the International Artist Diploma Course. She is a Samling Scholar. Her engagements have included Dama in Macbeth for The Grange Festival, Freia in The Rhinegold for English National Opera, Helmwige in Die Walküre and Third Norn in Götterdämmerung for Longborough Festival Opera and Brünnhilde in Act III of Götterdämmerung  for The Mastersingers. Awards include the 2017 Elizabeth Connell Prize for Dramatic Sopranos. Engagements for 2024/25 include Helmwige and Third Norn for cycles of Der Ring des Nibelungen at Longborough Festival Opera and at La Monnaie, Brussels (also cover Brünnhilde). She makes her debut with The Royal Opera in the 2024/25 Season as Ortlinde in Die Walküre.
