Biography

Katie Robertson joined The Royal Ballet’s Aud Jebsen Young Dancers programme at the beginning of the 2024/25 Season.   

Katie was born in Bristol and started dancing at the age of 5 years at 344 Dance School. She joined the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associate programme when she was 8 years old. In 2016 at age 11, she joined the Royal Ballet School’s lower school, White Lodge, and moved to the Upper School in 2021. Katie will be graduating in 2024 after 8 years of full-time training with The Royal Ballet School. 

During Katie’s time in training, she was awarded the April Alrich Award for Dynamic Performance, the Artistic Prize for Progress and Endeavor, and joint 1st place in the Lynn Seymour Award for Expressive Dance. 

While at the school she performed the roles of Little Red Riding Hood in Sleeping Beauty and Amour in Don Quixote. In her graduating performances she danced the Rhapsody pas de deux, the first female solo in Paquita and featured roles in La Valse and Mistake Waltz. Performances with The Royal Ballet while at the School have included The Nutcracker, Don Quixote and Swan Lake. Katie also participated in The Royal Ballet's World Ballet Day 2023, rehearsing the Rhapsody pas de deux
