Biography

Burge was a principal dancer with Rambert 1970–85, performing as a guest artist with Rudolf Nureyev. Her opera movement credits include The Rake’s Progress (Grange Park Opera), La Gioconda (Salzburg Easter Festival), Madama Butterfly (Bregenz Festival), Samson et Dalila, Alice’s Adventures Under Ground, Hansel and Gretel, L’heure espagnole/Gianni Schicchi, Il trittico, Un ballo in maschera (The Royal Opera), The Girl of the Golden West (English National Opera, Santa Fe Opera), Ariodante (Aix-en-Provence, Amsterdam), Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Welsh National Opera, ENO), Parsifal (Paris Opera), The Makropulos Case (Frankfurt), Billy Budd (Gothenburg, Frankfurt), Les contes d’Hoffmann, Lohengrin (Bayerische Staatsoper), Powder Her Face (Irish National Opera), Der Ring des Nibelungen (Nederlandse Reisopera), Fiddler on the Roof, Rusalka, The Queen of Spades (Grange Park Opera), Ariadne auf Naxos (Scottish Opera, Opera Holland Park), The Importance of Being Earnest (Northern Ireland Opera), Carmen (Opera North) and Ariadne auf Naxos (Glyndebourne Festival).
