Marie McLaughlin’s career has spanned four decades, with notable collaborations including performances with Daniel Barenboim, Bernard Haitink and Antonio Pappano, as well as the late Leonard Bernstein and Giuseppe Sinopoli. Her early engagements included performances at the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Paris Opera and the Salzburg and Glyndebourne festivals. Recent highlights include Older Woman (Flight) for Scottish Opera, Annie Chapman (Jack the Ripper: The Women of Whitechapel) for English National Opera, Mother Goose (The Rake’s Progress) with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro) at Salzburg’s Mozartwoche and Los Angeles Opera, and Signora Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza (Southbank Centre, Los Angeles Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago). Her previous roles for The Royal Opera include La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi), Marcellina, Katerina (The Greek Passion), Meg Page (Falstaff), Hannah Glawari (The Merry Widow).
