Biography

Natalya Romaniw is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Awards include Young Artist of the Year at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards (2020) and Singer of the Year at the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards (2020). Recent operatic highlights include the title roles of Kát'a Kabanová (Grange Park Opera) and Tosca (Royal Opera House debut, Staatsoper Hamburg, Oper Frankfurt, Deutsche Oper Berlin), her role debuts as the title roles in Ariadne auf Naxos and Rusalka (Garsington Opera) and her house debut in the title role of Jenůfa (Opéra de Rouen Normandie). Additional recent highlights include a return to Houston Grand Opera as Blanche (Dialogues des Carmélites) and Ortlinde (Die Walküre), concert engagements with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and a return to the BBC Proms. Engagements for 2024/25 include a return to Welsh National Opera as Giorgetta and Sister Angelica (Il trittico).
