Peter Kálmán’s recent highlights include Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola) at Seattle Opera, Semperoper Dresden and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Mustafà (L’italiana in Algeri) and Bartolo (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Salzburg Festival, Tutor (Le Comte Ory) at Theater an der Wien, Achilla (Giulio Cesare) at Vienna State Opera, and Baron Scarpia (Tosca), Villains (Les contes d’Hoffmann) and Klingsor (Parsifal) at Hungarian State Opera, where he was also made Kammersänger in spring 2024. Conductors he has worked with include Alain Altinoglu, Christoph von Dohnányi, Ádám Fischer, Valery Gergiev, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Enrique Mazzola, Ingo Metzmacher, Nello Santi, Franz Welser-Möst and Jaap van Zweden among others. His 2024/25 Season engagements include his role debut as Falstaff at the Hungarian State Opera, his Metropolitan Opera debut as Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Alberich (Das Rheingold) and Publio (La clemenza di Tito) at Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Méphistofélès (Faust) at Hungarian State Opera. He makes his debut with The Royal Opera in the 2024/25 Season as Bartolo.
