Robin Tebbutt

Robin Tebbutt studied Music and Drama at Birmingham University. He served as staff Director at Glyndebourne 1987–1991 and directed Tippett’s New Year for Glyndebourne Touring Opera. He was Staff Director at Welsh National Opera 1993–2008 and has directed revival productions in repertory including La traviata, Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci, Rigoletto, Carmen, Madama Butterfly, Così fan tutte and Béatrice et Bénédict. As Associate Director for Sir David Pountney he has directed revivals of Simon Boccanegra, Guillaume Tell, Figaro Gets a Divorce, La forza del destino and Un ballo in maschera. As Associate Director for Katie Mitchell he has directed revivals of Káťa Kabanová, Jephtha, The Way Back Home, Jenůfa, Lessons in Love and Violence, Trauernacht, Alcina, Lucia di Lammermoor, Miranda and Ariadne auf Naxos.
