Biography

Welsh tenor Ryan Vaughan Davies joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2023/24 Season. He is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music Opera School, Royal College of Music and Royal Northern College of Music where he is an Associate Artist. Recent engagements include Tom Rakewell (The Rake’s Progress) for Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn, Beppe (Pagliacci) for Iford Arts, Prunier (La rondine) for If Opera, and Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Torquemada (L’heure Espagnole), Der Tenor (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Interrogator (WITCH) for RAM. Concert highlights include the Lover (Il tabarro) with the Hallé Orchestra at the BBC Proms and with the Ulster Orchestra in performances of Handel’s Messiah. He has previously appeared at the Southbank Centre, Grieghallen Bergen and in the US with the North American Festival of Wales. 2023/24 Royal Opera roles included Borsa (Rigoletto) and Remendado (Carmen). 2024/25 Royal Opera roles include Nathanael (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Ruiz (Il trovatore) and Remendado (Carmen).
