Biography

Sarah Pring studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the National Opera Studio. She began her career at Glyndebourne, later earning the Sir John Christie Award and the ESSO Touring Award. For The Royal Opera, roles have included Glasha (Katya Kabanova), Xenia’s Nurse (Boris Godunov), Mother (Mavra), Madam Larina (Eugene Onegin), Giovanna (Rigoletto) and Annina (La traviata, also on DVD with Opus Arte). Engagements elsewhere include at the Copenhagen Opera Festival, Opéra de Caen, Oper Stuttgart, Birmingham Opera Company, Chelsea Opera Group, English National Opera, The Grange Festival, Grange Park Opera, Opera Holland Park, Opera North, Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera, in repertory including The Old Lady (Candide), Mrs Grose (The Turn of the Screw), Mrs Alexander (Satyagraha), Mother/Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Mamma Lucia (Cavalleria rusticana), Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro), Zita (Gianni Schicchi), La zia principessa (Suor Angelica), La Frugola (Il tabarro), Nan (New Year), Mary (Der fliegende Holländer) and Fricka (Das Rheingold/Die Walküre). During 2022, she was a Voice Coach for Sky Arts’ Anyone Can Sing
