Sean Panikkar’s 2023/24 Season engagements include Alfred (Die Fledermaus) in a new production at the Bayerische Staatsoper, the title role of Œdipus Rex in a new production at Dutch National Opera, The Hours by Kevin Puts and Greg Pierce at the Metropolitan Opera and his role debut as Alexej Iwanowitsch (The Gambler) at the Salzburg Festival. Concert performances include Verdi’s Requiem with Los Angeles Master Chorale and Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde with Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg.  Recent highlights include Philip Glass’ Satyagraha at English National Opera and Los Angeles Opera, Luigi Nono’s Intolleranza 1960 and Henze’s The Bassarids at Komische Oper Berlin and the Salzburg Festival, Tambourmajor (Wozzeck) in a new production at Vienna State Opera, the title role of Œdipus Rex at the San Francisco Symphony and a new production of Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. He made his Royal Opera debut in the 2023/24 Season in Das Rheingold.
