South African baritone Siphe Kwani joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2024/25 Season. Awards include the First and Audiences Prizes in the 2019 Schock Foundation Prize for Singing and First Prize in the 2019 Friends of Cape Town Opera bursary competition for singers. Roles include Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) in a joint collaboration with the University of Cape Town and Cape Town Opera, the title role of Gianni Schicchi with the Operatunity Company, and Ferryman (Curlew River), Alexander Dunlop in the world premiere of Sarah Baartman by South African composer Hendrick Hofmeyr, Tarabotto (L’Inganno felice), Lindorf/Dr Miracle (The Tales of Hoffmann) and Giorgio Germont (La traviata) with the University of Cape Town Opera. 2024/25 Royal Opera roles include Captain (Eugene Onegin), First Prisoner (Fidelio) and Dancaïro (Carmen). 2025/26 roles include Sciarrone (Tosca), Baron Douphol (La traviata), Marullo (Rigoletto) and Second Philistine (Samson et Dalila).
